Ford Ranger Super Duty – launching a global workhorse through regional media and experiential validation

Building Regional Awareness for Ford’s Most Capable Ranger

Client: RMA Group / Ford RMA
Market: Thailand & Asia-Pacific

The Challenge

The Ford Ranger Super Duty represents a significant expansion of the Ranger platform, combining the versatility of a mid-size pickup with heavy-duty capability engineered for demanding commercial, fleet, and off-road applications.

Ahead of its 2026 market introduction, RMA Group and Ford RMA engaged Foundeast to support an international media programme in Thailand designed to introduce the Ranger Super Duty to influential automotive and business media, communicate its engineering and commercial applications, and generate credible third-party coverage across multiple markets.

The objective went beyond generating launch publicity. The programme needed to give journalists direct experience of the vehicle, provide the technical information and access required for substantive reporting, and create media visibility that would continue supporting awareness and online discoverability after the event.

The Approach

Foundeast developed and executed an international automotive media relations programme built around an immersive Ranger Super Duty experience in Thailand.

Selected automotive and business journalists from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and other regional markets were brought together to experience the vehicle firsthand.

The programme combined vehicle presentations, technical briefings, access to the Ranger Super Duty chassis and engineering, photography and video opportunities, and an extensive driving experience designed to demonstrate the vehicle in the environments for which it was developed.

Rather than treating the launch as a conventional press event, the programme was structured to give journalists the information, access, imagery, and firsthand driving experience necessary to produce detailed independent coverage.

Foundeast supported the programme through international media identification and engagement, journalist coordination, media materials, content development, event communications, and post-event media relations.

Quantified Results

The programme generated extensive automotive and business coverage across Thailand and international markets.

50+ earned media stories and features

Multiple Asia-Pacific markets reached

Estimated 15–20 million+ potential media reach

Estimated US$500,000+ earned PR value

Coverage spanning automotive, business, technology, and enthusiast media

Long-form vehicle reviews and first-drive coverage generated from direct journalist experience

Coverage extended beyond launch announcements into detailed vehicle reviews, technical analysis, photography, video, and first-person driving reports—giving the Ranger Super Duty considerably greater depth of third-party content than a conventional product announcement alone.

From Media Coverage to Discoverability

The programme also illustrates Foundeast’s approach to modern automotive communications.

A successful vehicle launch should create more than a temporary spike in publicity. Every credible article, vehicle review, technical reference, photograph, video, backlink, and independent mention adds to the body of authoritative information surrounding a vehicle and brand online.

That content can continue influencing traditional Google search results while also strengthening the third-party signals available to AI-driven discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.

By combining experiential automotive PR with international media relations and a broader Discoverability strategy, Foundeast helps automotive brands turn launch activity into a longer-term digital asset.

The Result

The Ford Ranger Super Duty programme demonstrated how an automotive launch can connect real-world product experience, earned media, international communications, content, search visibility, and brand authority within a single campaign.

For automotive brands entering Thailand or Southeast Asia, Foundeast applies the same principle: create experiences worth covering, put them in front of the right journalists and creators, and ensure the resulting communications continue building authority and discoverability long after the launch event has finished.
